Anna-Liisa is a Consultant of GLS Group. She was an experienced lawyer who has widened her knowledge and skill-set by completing a Masters in Business Administration and co-founding an entrepreneurial venture. As a lawyer, she has advised on a wide range of corporate finance transactions, international capital raisings, M&A, joint ventures, privatisations and other cross-border corporate and commercial work. Anna-Liisa’s in-house experience has exposed her to family-owned diversified businesses across key industries, such as construction, real estate, energy, food and hospitality. In her work as the co-founder and chief operating officer of Consult and Coach for a Cause (C3), she has advised the social enterprise sector on business planning and structuring, corporate governance, decision-making processes and impact measurement.

Middle East: Negotiated third party referral agreements as part of an online network business.

Middle East: Advised a tech start up on a Series A and Convertible Note US$1.5 million financing round and negotiated corporate documentation.

Africa: Advised on Bharti Airtel’s US$10.7 billion acquisition of Zain’s 15 African mobile networks.

Middle East: Negotiated joint venture arrangements between SS Lootah Group and a strategic international partner to bring healthcare technology to the UAE.

Middle East: Acted for the Jordanian Executive Privatisation Committee in the privatisation of Royal Jordanian Airlines.

Middle East: Advised on largest regional IPO to list on DIFX.

Middle East: Advised Emirates Bank Group on the merger between Emirates Bank and National Bank of Dubai.

Middle East: Responsible for private fund raising prior to the commencement of the IPO process and played an ongoing role as general corporate counsel.

Europe: Advised HBOS plc on their right to acquire Aviva’s interest in Lex Vehicle Leasing (Holdings), a joint venture in which HBOS already owned 50 per cent.

Europe: Advised on disposal of 10 non-core businesses for AEAT plc to private equity buyers and pre-sale re-organisation of the businesses.
